His cult members would often try to equate him with Dr. Ambedkar. If Thirumavalavan was really a leader of Dalit community like he says so, and has ounce of self-respect for himself or for his community members he shouldn't be associated anywhere with this EVR ideology. But he does. Sold his soul for a boat load of money I guess!
Actual Dalit people who know the real history actually look up to Dr. Ambedkar, because they know who's the real deal.
If you guys think that EVR was a true champion to Dalit community, why do you think so?
EVR was a feudal lord (a Pannaiyaar) that too an evil one. You are under the illusion of him being the hero that he is because you are brain washed by Dravidianism.
He never treated them as equal and often looked down on Dalit and would address the people from the caste as "Paraiyars" and "Parayachis", which he often meant in a derogatory tone describing the community members. On the contrary, there are some people who embrace their identity.
Cult members are now making him appear like he's the Dalit hero who fought for the rights of Dalit members, erasing the actual leaders out of the picture.

Here are all the times EVR proved that he is Anti-Dalit from the start. These are just some of the instances that are still available on the internet free to look up. Rest are just erased and forgotten. I re-record them here just in case...
Temple Entry movement
When untouchability was revoked and Dalits were granted access to temples, EVR was not happy about it. Infact, he was concerned whether non-Brahmin community status would degrade down to Dalit level and mocked Congress and wrote an article emphasizing that they're still above Dalit.
How insecure a man can get about his caste hierarchy, to think that when Dalit getting access he assumes that his caste status also gets down.

1921 Buckingham and Carnatic Mills Strike
The infamous Binny & Co., mills that is exclusively rented for shooting spots have blood on their hands. The infamous Justice Party with their infamous labor exploitation of the shot and killed 6 members who protested for decent wages and leaves.
So what did EVR do? - Nothing
Kilvenmani Massacre
Gopalakrishnan Naidu killed 44 people who worked as laborers in his place. EVR did turn this narrative as that the laborers were influenced by Communist party all when they asked was extra 1 kg of rice.
Since the person who did the mass murder was of EVR's caste he did what people often do and did "Victim Blaming", making an indirect statement, that it was not Gopalakrishnan Nadu's fault for killing the people.
Below was the statement made by him on this incident.
"Communist friends are not teaching laborers how to live within the means of their salary, instead they teach revolutions and protest to these people. Farmers and laborers should not give into their idea of protest"

This was a historical incident and why do you think this story has not been turned to a movie yet by the DMK government?
The big movie industry in the South will never make a movie out of this. Because it was their bloodshed hands that was involved in this.

Theendaadhar Thuyaram (Swadesha Mithran Magazine publication)
Around 1928-1930 a particular Pannaiyaar community in Koothapar, Krishnasamudhram (Trichy) strictly laid 13 laws for Dalit community. If the community would abide by the rules they were allowed to stay, else they should leave. Some of the inhuman rules imposed by them.
Dalit members should not access common well to take water, nor bath in it.
They were not allowed to wear Chappals
No cloth should cover below the knees
Dalit community children should not be educated
If people are getting married Pannaiyaar should approve the marriage (because marrying means loss in labor works)
Marriage events should not have any kind of extravagant celebration events (like Pallak, Horse carriage driven, no drums)
No metal utensils should be used in Kitchen. They were only allowed to use Clay utensils.
They were refrained from practicing agriculture
EVR did not condone any of the pannaiyaar acts
Themparai (Thanjavur) Saanipaal Savukkadi Poraatam
Around 1940-1950s Pannaiyaars in Southern Thanjavur would punish Dalit members who'd commit mistake by tying them to a pole make them drink cow-dung water and beat them with whips until they bled.
A protest that happened in Thanjavur includes notable leaders Iranyan, Sivaraman, Manali Kandasamy including 3 Brahmins (Srinivasa Rao, P.Ramamoorthy (Veppathoor Ramamoorthy), Manalur Maniammal). This action was not condoned by EVR.
All the Dalit murders happened
Through and through history Dalit community members were enslaved by the rich Pannaiyaar community. With them being empowered or educated it would be a cause a massive ego clash with the upper rich Pannaiyaar mindsets. So many of them outright rejected it.
EVR never did condone any of his fellow rich Pannaiyaar community members on their actions. Never did he try to reform his Pannaiyar friends. It was only others that needed social reform movements not the rich. Rich were allowed to do anything and everything.
Many Dalit were killed till date and there's been zero action taken. And if the murder becomes a sensation then the only action would be of them releasing a statement.
Immanuel Sekaran was murdered by a group from the Thevar community on 11 September 1957 in Ramanathapuram, EVR did not voice concern.
He only said he would not want to intervene in a fight between two hoodlums".
Kavin Selvaganesh who was championed in Social media, hardly made any news and was addressed by mainstream media or by VCK too. It's because they don't want to condone any of these issues because they form the highest caste vote bank and they are descendants of rich Pannaiyaar family members.
Sanitation Workers Strike - 2025
Recent strike of the sanitation workers are a living proof how the poor are exploited by this evil satanic government. During their protests, women were beaten and their salaries were withheld. No major news media covered this. Because everyone's on their side. You cannot look up an actual data on the internet related to this. It's been wiped off for good.
Dalit Women

Conclusion
People of Dalit community should not take him as his hero. Because he is not. He is one of the people who exploited his Dalit labourers to extreme and he is your villian. Do not believe the people who say that he was the one that bought you your rights and that you should be greatful for it. He's not Dalit's hero and will never be a Dalit Hero.
Whichever party might come to place, it's always the lower end of the economic spectrum suffers the most. Do not believe into false promises and hopes. They are not here to help you. You are on your own. Education is the only path that drives you to success.
