Who is Thanthai Periyar EVR?

If you ask the people the cult members, they would often say the sun, moon and all the good qualities associated under the sun and moon would be EVR's.

And human civilization sustained because of him and all the ungrateful people don't give him his due credit.

The irony is that, for an atheist and a non-religious person he sure is considered as god for this cult.

Some of the baseless claims we as a Tamil community heard time and time again.

"Without Periyaar, women would be chained in the kitchen for eternity", "Without Periyaar untouchability would never be abolished". "Without Periyaar Dalits would never get recognition in this society".

People are brain-washed right from school age and in Tamil text books. Even I too read his stupid ass back in my school years. As an adult, I can see the crap that we are sold to. From personal extensive research I'm well aware of EVR now.

It took years of unlearning for me to call him EVR than "Periyaar", that's how deep it is in Tamil community. Uttering EVR seems like disrespect, to the cult members and if given a chance they will come and beat you with sticks if you say EVR.

Let me break it down to you who he was in simple terms.

EVR is an illiterate, casteist, classist, credit-stealer, sex-addict pedophile and a manipulator who changes his stance often to fit his narrative.

He got rebranded as Champion of Tamil people, a revolutionist, champion of Women empowerment, Women education, Women liberation, Abolisher of Caste & Religion.

He is a hater and a manipulator to the core. And a separatist.

He hates Brahmins, Tamils, Tamil Language, Muslims & Dalits. He stole ideologies and thoughts and actions of other members and created an identity for himself.

Let me break his identity one by one with proofs.

Illiterate

He stopped his school education at age 11 since he hailed from a rich affluent family and was working on his "Daddy's" merchant business. He was a spoiled rotten asshole right from his young age. It's not me who says this. His followers wrote about him fondly in his book.

His day-to-day activity would be to harass the poor Saamiyaars, Sanyaasi, Bhagavathars, Brahmins, Artists who came to beg for alms. This was a very high quality thing that's mentioned in this book.

   2. Anti-Dalit

      This history is trying to get erased currently and everybody's trying their best not to. With Dalit party also being an ally to DK ideologies, Dalits are being taught a different history overall. He often uses the term "Parayars" & "Parayachis", amother derogatory term that exists.

   People are taught that he was the one that tried to erase Untouchability and made people to enter into temples. Taking credit from Ambedkar's work. Piece of shit!

   The biggest irony is that to remove "Caste discrimination" he practiced and taught "Caste discrimination". Brainless Monkey.

5. He supported his caste members during the time of Kilvenmani massacre in Nagapattinam (Gopalakrishna Naidu - belonging to the same caste as him), and what did his supporters claimed was that he was in his 80s age and was admitted in a Chennai hospital as he was ill. What a load of bullshit. This was his words published in his article Viduthalai.

The massacre happened because of the intervention of Communist Party. Laborers are not taught how to live within their means by the salary they get instead these Communist party members and are instigating violence to topple the rulers.

Classist

He was a sex-addict so and so he would often be seen at a sex-workers home often. His followers again pride on this fact and wear this as a "Badge of honor". Yes he did live as a "Minor life (So what???)".

His "Women liberation" movement were nothing but him needing to sleep with all kinds of women. So he took quotes from feminist authors that fit the sexuality narrative and twisted it and made it so raw and ugly.

The act of stopping his wife Maniammai to step into a temple is the most low one can get. He purposefully asked his "friends" to harass her as she was the area's new sex-worker to make her stop going to temples. How low can you go?

Brahmin women

He made derogatory comments and fetishes over Brahmin women.

Dalit Women

On the contrary he also defamed Dalit women saying that them wearing blouses were the cause of textile to go up and Dalit women should not be given proper clothing and education.

Muslim women

He made comments on Muslim women wearing Burqa is a visual prison by their religion. In his essay of "Why Purdah must be abolished?" - (Kudiarasu 14-10-1928) he states,

Men & Women must be allowed to see each other freely and intermingle, so that they may wed based on mutual attraction and understanding. Can a man have any greater pleasure than a wife of his heart's desire? Why must we hide our women behind a visual prison in the name of religion?

Then Muslim league leader, P. Kalifullah condemned his words, he retracted his statement like the coward he is.

His feminism, women education, women empowerment were just eye-wash where he just blindly half-assedly repeated what Caldwell and feminists at the time said.

Never did he set any educational institution.

Caldwell might have conversion intentions, but he did set a girls school for women to study.
